What can you expect from a quality deer bag? First, it needs to be big enough for your gear and accessories. A medium sized bag can probably do but I wouldn’t recommend buying one based on that. You need to be able to carry your food and water for long periods of time and this bag will allow for that. Second, make sure you get a good quality bag with plenty of pockets or compartments to organize your gear.
How will you use the bag? This comes back to what you need in the first place. Do you plan on bringing a cooler with you on a two-week trip? If so, you need a bag that is big enough and comfortable to keep all your cold items in. On the other hand, if you plan on taking a shorter trip that doesn’t have much risk involved with it, then a smaller bag that is more roomy will do.
Also, think about where you will store it. While I prefer to keep mine in my car because it is extremely easy to grab and carry when I need it, many people like to use their outdoor shed as a storage place. I personally don’t like the look and feel of a shed and the fact that it is generally quite messy. However, if you are going to use your shed for something other than transportation, then you might be fine with storing it outdoors. I would suggest, however, that you get a large enough bag that you can store most of your gear in there so that it is out of all your other areas.
